Layering classic Italian techniques with a focus on sustainable design, these platters are a stunning mix of art and function.  Each piece starts by fusing together three separate glass cups while over 1500ºF to create the seamless bands circling the form.  In the Venetian and Murano traditions, this advanced technique is known as Incalmo.  The central section is created using offcuts from a series of high-skill Italian techniques known as "cane," which starts with a pair of glassmakers stretching colored glass for several meters into long, thin strands that can be cut and arranged into specific patterns.  The offcuts of other cane projects are fused and folded into a complex matrix in the center of each platter, ensuring that none of the beautiful and time-consuming pattern-work goes to waste.

Whether an experienced or novice glass enthusiast, these bold centerpieces are sure to be a conversation starter in any home.  As each is made by hand, no two are alike.
