This hand blown vase begins with a black glass bubble as the canvas. Onto the surface, the artist "draws" playful lines with custom-made glass rods before melting them in and shaping the final form. Though fully fused into the surface, the final lines appear to rise and hover, giving the illusion of three-dimensional doodles across the glossy black ground. The result is a lively, one-of-a-kind piece where spontaneous gestures are permanently captured in glass.
